Windows Well Covered - Custom Window Well Covers is a family owned and operated business that fabricates and installs custom window well covers in the Denver and Colorado Springs area.
Windows Well Covered grew out of a desire to deliver an exceptional experience in the home service industry. As a father-son team, we run the business by the same values that shape our family: putting people first and treating customers with quality craftsmanship and honesty. From the initial measuring process, to window well cover fabrication, to final installation, our team puts the utmost care and integrity into all that we do.
Since we started Windows Well Covered in March 2021, we have fabricated more than 6,500 custom covers for Colorado homes.

Meet the Owners
Brian Cichowitz, Owner & CEO
Brian is a lifetime entrepreneur. Before founding Windows Well Covered with his son Garrett in 2021, he spent more than 40 years building businesses, including tiny home manufacturing that carries over directly into how we build covers today. He brings a manufacturer's discipline and the strategic foresight of four decades in business to everything we make, and he signs off on every order that leaves the shop.
Garrett Cichowitz, Owner & COO
Garrett is Brian's son and the company's co-founder. He spent ten years in education leadership and holds a Master's in School Leadership from Columbia University and a BS in Entrepreneurship from Grove City College. He runs the day-to-day operations of the business and leads our small team across fabrication, scheduling, and customer experience. Garrett works in the field himself, so if you have talked to anyone at Windows Well Covered, there is a good chance it was him.
Designed for Strength and Safety
When designing our product, we wanted to offer a truly custom load-bearing window well cover that addresses the needs of each customer for the typical window well. That means we can build a cover with slope and breathability or a flushed design. While many clear polycarbonate window well covers look the same, we noticed many of our competitors were buying cheap aluminum that easily bends. We use unique proprietary industrial-grade molds and designed our own custom locking system. Combined with our one-of-a-kind measurement process and building standards, we believe we have fabricated one of the best window well covers on the market.
Windows Well Covered manufactures our covers in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Each cover is cut on a CNC router, ensuring a precise fit, and comes with a lifetime workmanship warranty plus a ten-year materials warranty. The covers are made from UV-treated polycarbonate, and each one is custom built to fit window wells of any shape and material, whether metal, concrete, wood, or stone.

Engineered strength
Our covers are engineered for an 800-pound load, verified by 808 Structural Engineering, and built to handle heavy Colorado snow.
Sloped and breathable
Every cover is built with a custom slope that sheds water, snow, leaves, and animals away from the well. The custom aluminum frame still lets air move under the polycarbonate panel, so your basement stays dry instead of trapping moisture the way a flat cover does.
Quick-release for emergencies
Our quick-release locking system holds the cover down against wind and theft, and releases from inside in seconds, with no keys, tools, or special knowledge required. IRC R310 egress code for basement bedrooms.states that window well covers must be “releasable or removable from the inside without the use of a key, tool, special knowledge or force greater than that which is required for normal operation of the escape and rescue opening."
